•February 24, 2010 • Leave a CommentWhile taking in the sights of the Minnesota North Shore, friends explained that the green trees peaking out of the snow covered landscape were evergreen trees…not many of those in Brazil:) What a sight!
I’m not sure which of these memories will be embedded in my mind to prepare me for next winter…beautiful Lake Superior, green trees in the snow or shoveling sidewalks.
Watching for the next miracle.
Blessings.

Francelino Henriques Zau, born June 2nd, 1967 in Angola, Africa.
Raised by his “old mama” (grandmother) as his mother was far too young to care for him.
Zau joined the Angolan Military to serve four years in a three decade civil war. His military responsibility and position was to live in the jungle with just battery communication with the troops. He had lost many of his friends in combat. Under the instruction of his “old mama” he left Angola.
Since leaving his homeland, over twenty one years ago, he has traveled extensively throughout South America, Cuba, French Guyana, Columbia, Venezuela and then finally found his place among the Amazon Indians in Brazil. This is where Zau learned how to craft, unique and exotic one of a kind jewelry and leather pieces.
In 2007, while selling his jewelry on the streets in Rio de Janerio, he happened upon his true soul mate, an American woman who experienced the energy one feels when they wear his custom “Work’s of Art.” These two kindred spirits have created a strong bond and call Minneapolis, Minnesota their home.
Zau is creating custom and very beautiful jewelry pieces that many cannot get enough of. His custom jewelry pieces come alive with a story of sacrifice, forgiveness, energy, humility, gratefulness, peace and a genuine love of being so fortunate to have been blessed with this gift.
Attending his first Minneapolis art show, curious onlookers became customers within a moment of stepping up to the booth. By the second day of the art show, almost all of his custom jewelry pieces had found a new home.
